As a finance student, you’ll be able to tailor your advanced courses to your particular interests and career goals. All finance majors also complete Webster’s core capstone course. In all of the programs in the Department of Business, students will also have actual hands-on experience using SAP which is the enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems software that runs many business organizations in the world.

In addition, our students have completed internships at a variety of companies such as US Bank, Mastercard, Regions Financial Corporation, Wells Fargo, and Edward Jones. Students have the opportunity to meet with some of these companies and many more at an annual Internship Fair in the spring.

  • Students can apply time value of money techniques to security valuation.
  • Students can evaluate the financial strength of a corporation and analyze capital budgeting decisions.
  • Students can understand the risk-return relationship and can estimate appropriate rates of return.
  • Students can describe the intermediation services provided by financial institutions.

Four courses must be selected from the following list. Two of the four courses (6 credit hours) must be FINC prefix courses. No more than 3 hours of internship credit (BUSN 4950) may be used to satisfy degree requirements. Internship credit must be in the area of finance.
